HUBUNGAN ANTARA KEJADIAN HIPONATREMIA DAN MORTALITAS PASIEN TB PARU DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG.
Background: Tuberculosis is defined by WHO as a global health problem and is one of ten causes of mortality around the world. There has been an increase of pulmonary TB cases in South Sumatera in 2021. The city that makes the most number of pulmonary TB cases in South Sumatera is Palembang. One of complications that is caused by pulmonary TB is hyponatremia. The aim of this study is to determine the association between hyponatremia and mortality of pulmonary TB patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Method: This study is an observational analytic study with retrospective cohort design and uses secondary data of medical record at the Medical Record Installation of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang period 01 January 2019 – 30 June 2022 which meets the study criteria. Data is analyzed with Chi Square test. Result: From 146 samples, it was found that pulmonary TB patients were hospitalized at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang experienced hyponatremia as many as 73 people (50%) and died as many as 44 people (30,1%). Based on the results of statistical tests with the Chi Square test method, the value of p = 0,000 is obtained. This indicates that there is a significant association between hyponatremia and mortality of pulmonary TB patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Conclusion: There is a significant association between hyponatremia and mortality of pulmonary TB patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang.
