HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN DENGAN KECEMASAN PADA REMAJA PUTRI DALAM MENGHADAPI MENARCHE
Adolescence can be defined as a transitional stage of a person from childhood that is signified by emotional, physical, biological, and cognitive changes. Meanwhile, menarche refers to the first menstruation experienced by women where the blood comes from the uterus. Women’s knowledge of menarche is sometimes only limited to its definition, without any understanding. The research aims to discover the relationship between knowledge and anxiety of women dealing with menarche. The study employs quantitative methods with a cross-sectional analytic observational design. The sample of this study were 55 respondents that collected by using stratified random sampling technique. Data was collected through questionnaires and then analysed using the chi-square test. The results of data analysis found that there is a relationship between knowledge and anxiety in women dealing with menarche (p-value = 0.000) with a value of r = 0.709. This indicates a strong correlation between knowledge and anxiety variables. The result of the study shows that the better women’s knowledge of menarche, the less anxiety women experience and vice versa. Therefore, it is necessary to increase women’s knowledge with health education and reading media such as menarche posters.
