PEMERIKSAAN SPUTUM BTA DAN GENEXPERT PADA PASIEN TB DI RUMAH SAKIT KHUSUS PARU PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN PERIODE JULI 2021-JULI 2022
Background. Tuberculosis is a disease caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Diseases that can attack the lungs. They can generally transmit these bacteria through infected droplets in the air. Smear microscopic examination and GeneXpert can make the diagnosis of these bacteria. This study aims to determine the distribution of the results of microscopic examination of AFB and GeneXpert sputum in patients suspected of having TB in Lung Hospital of South Sumatra period July 2021 - July 2022 Method. This research was conducted using the descriptive observational type. This study used secondary data in the form of laboratory data at the Special Lung Hospital in South Sumatra Province for the period July 2021-July 2022 which met the inclusion criteria. Results. The incidence of suspected tuberculosis in Lung Hospital of South Sumatra period July 2021 - July 2022 found 462 cases. The highest prevalence of suspected TB was aged >55 years (40.7%) and was dominated by men (66%). From the results of microscopic examination of AFB in patients suspected of having TB, the most negative results were found (82%), the TB suspects examined by GeneXpert also had the most negative results (65.8%). Patients with suspected MDR TB tested through GeneXpert had negative results for rifampicin resistance (93.7%). Conclusion. The prevalence of suspected tuberculosis patients in Lung Hospital of South Sumatra period July 2021 - July 2022 was found to be 462 patient cases.
