HIPERTENSI SEBAGAI SALAH SATU FAKTOR KOMORBID PENYEBAB KEMATIAN PADA PASIEN COVID-19 DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE JANUARI-DESEMBER 2021
Background: Covid-19 is a disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus with hypertension becoming comorbid with the highest number of cases in Indonesia in 2020. Patients with Covid-19 can experience mild to severe symptoms that cause death. Death due to Covid-19 is not only caused by Covid-19 infection but is based on comorbidities such as hypertension and other disease conditions so that it can cause Multiple Organ Disfunction Syndrome (MODS) to lead to death. The purpose of this study is toknow hypertension as one of the comorbid causes of death in Covid-19 patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Hospital for the January-December 2021 period. Method: This type of study is descriptive analytic, observational method, with cross sectional study design. Data obtained from secondary data in the form of medical records of Covid-19 patients for the January-December 2021 period who have met the inclusion criteria. The data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Chi-Square test. Results: From 184 samples, covid-19 patients experienced comorbid hypertension (34.33%). The proportion of Covid-19 patients accompanied by hypertension who died was (20.2%) from 114 total samples of Covid-19 patients accompanied by hypertension. The proportion of Covid-19 patients accompanied by hypertension who died was most found in level 2 hypertension with other comorbidities (30.4%). There is no meaningful relationship between hypertension and the death of hospitalized Covid-19 patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang for the January-December 2021 period (p=1.000). There was no meaningful association between age (p=0.931), gender (p=0.781), type of occupation (p= 0.581) of Covid-19 patients accompanied by hypertension hospitalized to death. Conclusion: There is no relationship between hypertension and death of Covid-19 patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Keywords: Hypertension, Covid-19, Death
