The number of rheumatoid arthritis sufferers in the world today has reached 355 million people, meaning that 1 in 6 of the earth's population suffers from rheumatoid arthritis (WHO 2010) and the number of patients in Indonesia reaches 2 million people, with a ratio of three times as many female patients. from men. In non-pharmacological interventions nurses play a major role in overcoming rheumatoid arthritis because it is a nurse's independent action.One of the non-pharmacological interventions that nurses can do independently in reducing the pain scale of rheumatoid arthritis is by applying warm red ginger compresses to patients to reduce the scale of rheumatoid arthritis. Purpose: This report aims to provide gerontic nursing care for the elderly with rheumatoid arthritis with the main problem of acute pain nursing with treatment using warm red ginger water compress therapy. Methods: The method of reporting this scientific paper is a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach and provides nursing care and interventions based on an analysis of ten journals. Results: The results of this case study indicate that the complementary therapy of warm red ginger compresses is effective in reducing the level of pain scale in the elderly with rheumatoid arthritis arthritis and reduce its recurrence rate. Conclusion: Non-pharmacological therapy or complementary warm red ginger water compresses that are given have an effect on reducing pain scale in the elderly with rheumatoid arthritis.
