GAMBARAN DIMENSI BURNOUT PADA PESERTA PROGRAM PENDIDIKAN DOKTER SPESIALIS ANESTESIOLOGI DAN TERAPI INTENSIF FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
Background: Burnout syndrome is an exhaustion syndrome that is common in people who are undergoing professional work, in this case, residents are one of the professions that are very vulnerable and at high risk which will lead to burnout syndrome. Burnout syndrome is characterized by emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and sense of low professional accomplishment. The phenomenon of burnout syndrome is still the focus of attention in various educational centers of medical specialties in developed countries. However, research specifically discussing the incidence of burnout syndrome in doctors and residents in Indonesia is still small, and there is also no directed and integrated attention to it. This study aims to determine the description of the dimensions of burnout among residents of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University. Methods: This study uses a descriptive observational method with a cross-sectional approach on 54 residents of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University who met the inclusion criteria and were assessed using a questionnaire containing questions about gender, the number of night monthly shift duties, and daily night sleep time, as well as Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) in Indonesian. Results: Dimensions of burnout among residents of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University in three dimensions, followed by each burnout dimension, which had a high level of emotional exhaustion (EE) dimension of 14.8%, a high level of depersonalization (DP) of 29.6%, and a low level of personal accomplishment (PA) of 22,2%. Conclusion: Most of the residents of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University experienced a low level of burnout dimensions in all three dimensions.
