The purpose of this paper is to analyze the uses of flooding in region of UIGM University Palembang, Calculate and compare the plan with the flood discharge capacity of the existing channel. Frequency analysis of the rainfall was done. The result show that log pearson III probability distribution fitted chi rainfall probability distribution. Then the design discharge was calculated. It show that run off discharge was greaten than the capacity of the channels, beside that the flood was caused by low topography of the area UIGM and inadequate capacity of the channel
