KARAKTERISTIK PASIEN LARINGOMALASIA DI KSM THT-KL RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE 2021-2022
Background: Laryngomalacia is the most common congenital laryngeal disorder and is the most common cause of stridor in infants and children. This disorder causes the collapse of structures in the larynx and results in impaired breathing and feeding conditions in the child. This research aims to determine the characteristics of laryngomalacia patients in the ENT Department of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang period 2021-2022. Method: This study is an observational descriptive study. The data used in this study is medical record data as secondary data and questionnaires as primary data. Result: Characteristics of laryngomalasia patients in the ENT Department of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang period 2021-2022 showed the most patients aged 3-12 months (52.9%), more male patients than women (73.5%), the most patients came with clinical symptoms of eating difficulties (51.4%), most encountered type 1 with Olney classification (52.9%), most experienced mild severity (61.8%), neurological disease is the most comorbidities found (35.1%), and the most widely administered therapy in patients was medicamentous therapy (94.1%). Conclusion: Patients are at most 3-12 months old, male patients are more numerous than women, the most patients come with clinical symptoms of eating difficulties, most encountered type 1 with Olney classification, most patients experience mild severity, neurological disease is the most comorbidities found, and the most widely administered therapy in patients is medicamentous therapy.
