HUBUNGAN ANTARA MASALAH MAKAN DAN STATUS GIZI PADA ANAK LEUKEMIA DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Leukemia is a malignant disease of blood cells of bone marrow origin, characterized by a progressive proliferation of white blood cells (leukocytes) with the manifestation of the presence of abnormal cells in peripheral blood. The treatment given to children with leukemia is chemotherapy. Side effects of chemotherapy have an impact on the child's gastrointestinal system that gives rise to nausea and vomiting inflammation of the mucous tissue, anorexia, mucosal ulceration. If these symptoms are not treated immediately, it will cause eating problems in leukemia children which will affect nutrional status. This study aims to determine the relationship between eating problems and nutritional status in leukemia children at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. This study is a type of observational analytical research with a cross-sectional study design. The sample consisted of 68 subjects and used primary data in the form of filling out a Children's Eating Behavior Invenrory questionnaire and anthropometric measurement of nutritional status. There were 68 subjects with an average subject age of 6 (2-12) years. The characteristics of the subjects were male, male sex (60.3%), acute lympoblastic leukemia (75%), good nutritional status (72.1%), corticosteroid administration (73.5%), eating problems (54.4%). Statistical tests conducted showed that the association between eating problems and nutritional status was insignificant (p=0.116). Based on the results of this study There is no meaningful relationship between eating problems and nutritional status in leukemia children at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang.
