PREVALENSI TEMUAN LESI KISTA ODONTOGENIK PADA RADIOGRAF PANORAMIK TAHUN 2019 (Studi di Rumah Sakit Khusus Gigi dan Mulut Provinsi Sumatera Selatan).
Background: Cyst is one of the lesions that are often found in the jaw. Odontogenic cysts can occur due to various etiologies. The incidence of odontogenic cysts is also associated with epithelial cell remnants left in the tissue after the tooth formation process. The prevalence of odontogenic cysts was reported higher than non-odontogenic cysts. This study aims to determine the prevalence of odontogenic cyst lesions on panoramic radiographs in 2019 at the RSKGM South Sumatra Province based on the type of odontogenic cyst, age, gender, and anatomical location. Methods: Descriptive observational study using 1,701 panoramic radiographs of patients in 2019, and identified directly to view odontogenic cyst lesions. Results: There were 313 panoramic radiographs with odontogenic cyst lesions from 1,701 panoramic radiographs examined, with the most common type of cyst being radicular cysts (63.26%), the most age being 26-35 years (25.57%), female sex more than men (55.9%), the most common anatomical location found odontogenic cysts were the posterior mandible (54.31%). Conclusion: The prevalence of odontogenic cysts at RSKGM South Sumatra Province in 2019 using panoramic radiographic were 18.40%. Keywords: odontogenic cyst, panoramic, radiograph
