Utilization of the river is an action or deed that is carried out either directly or indirectly in utilizing the river to be useful. The location of this research was carried out in the area along the Sekanak River, RT 02, 27 Ilir Village, Palembang City. This study aims to determine the form and impact of the use of the Sekanak River by the community along the Sekanak River, RT 02, 27 Ilir Village, Palembang City. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. with data collection techniques in the form of observation interviews. and documentation. Determination of informants in this study was carried out purposively with the number of main informants as many as 6 people and 1 person key informants. Analysis of the data using the theory of action from Max Weber. The results of this study indicate that there are 2 forms of utilization of the Sekanak River by riverbanks, namely the use of water and river channels. Utilization of river water is to meet daily household needs, while the form of river channel utilization is as a place for residential buildings, a place for garbage disposal and the benefit revitalizing the Sekanak River.
