Backgrounds. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic systemic inflammatory disease that primarily attacks the synovial tissue of the joints. Systemic inflammation is associated with changes in the number and composition of circulating blood cells. This study aims to determine the value of NLR, ESR, and CRP in rheumatoid arthritis patients. Methods. This study is a descriptive study with retrospective approach on all of the rheumatoid arthritis patients who were treated at Internal Medicine Department in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang within January 2019 – December 2020 period. There were 88 samples that met the inclusion criteria. The data was processed by using SPSS v25 and presented in univariate form including the descriptive explanation of each research variable. Results. Demographic characteristics showed that the majority of rheumatoid arthritis patients were women (83%) with mean age of 49 years. The mean value of RNL is 2.40; ESR is 37.50 mm/hour; and leukocytes 8.15x103/mm3. It was found that 54,5% of the rheumatoid arthritis patients’ CRP values were within the normal limit. Conclusions. NLR of rheumatoid arthritis patients were within the normal limits, with almost equal proportion in patients who had normal and elevated CRP levels. Meanwhile, there was an increase in the ESR value of rheumatoid arthritis patients above the normal limits.
