The Musi River in the city of Palembang has a multipurpose role in supporting the economic development of the community. The Kertapati area and its surroundings is one of the areas in the city of Palembang that utilizes the waters of the Musi River for industrial and community activities. The activities carried out produce waste that contains a lot of heavy metals such as iron metal and sometimes the waste produced is not treated properly, causing an increase in iron content in the waters of the Musi River. The increase in iron metal content has a negative impact on the survival of macrozoobenthos in these waters. This study aims to calculate and compare the value of macrozoobenthos diversity; measuring the content of ferrous metals in sediments; studied and analyzed the correlation between iron metal content in sediment and macrozoobenthos diversity in the Musi Kertapati River, Palembang City. The research was carried out from January 2022 to August 2022. The research method used a direct survey method with a randomized block design. The conclusion of the study shows that the iron content in sediments with macroozoobenthos diversity has a weak correlation
