Jumputan in the coloring process often uses synthetic dyes. Excessive use can trigger problems because it produces industrial liquid waste which is directly discharged into the environment without being processed first because it has not been equipped with a wastewater treatment plant. So it has the potential to cause liquid waste containing heavy metals such as lead (Pb) which are harmful to the environment. Efforts to treat liquid waste by applying phytoremediation using kiambang (Salvinia molesta Mitchell) and water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms). S. molesta and E. crassipes are known that each has the ability to accumulate heavy metals in liquid waste. So that the two aquatic plants are combined with the aim of having an advantage in phytoremediation to reduce Pb metal levels by a larger percentage. This research was carried out from December 2021 to March 2022, at the test house, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sriwijaya University. This study used a completely randomized design with 6 treatments, namely P0: without aquatic plants (control); P1 : S. molesta 100 g; P2 : S. molesta 75 g and E. crassipes 25 g; P3 : S. molesta 50 g and E. crassipes 50 g; P4 : S. molesta 25 g and E. crassipes 75 g; P5 : E. crassipes 100 g. The results showed that the combination of S. molesta and E. crassipes vegetation was more effective in the remediation of Pb metal from the liquid waste of jumputan cloth, namely 85,12-85,82% compared to the single vegetation of S. molesta or E. crassipes, which was 81,71-82,10. %. The better phytoremediation effectiveness on combined vegetation of S. molesta and E. crassipes was also followed by a better LPR of 0,0142-0,0175 g/day compared to single vegetation, which was 0,084-0,0125 g/day. The phytoremediation effectiveness of mixed vegetation of S. molesta and E. crassipes has the potential to be developed as a wastewater treatment for jumputan fabrics.
