PENGEMBANGAN KERAMIK HIDROKSIAPATIT TERDOPING TEMBAGA 1, 1.5, DAN 2 MOL PADA SINTERING 1000℃, 1100℃, DAN 1200℃.
Hydroxyapatite is one of the inorganic compounds that make up the hard tissue of the human body such as bones, teeth, dentin and so on. In this study, bovine bone was chosen as the base material for the synthesis of hydroxyapatite because it has good similarity and properties with bone and the availability of abundant bovine bone and copper was chosen as a doping because it has pro-angionic potential, thereby contributing to bone formation and antimicrobial activity and is expected to be able to improve its biological and mechanical properties. The synthesis of CuO-doped HA ceramics was carried out by calcining for 2 hours at 800℃ and solid state sintering at temperatures of 1000℃, 1100℃, and 1200℃ with a heating rate of 5℃/minute and a holding time of 30 minutes. The shrinkage calculation shows that the shrinkage in the sample is 52.48% to 59.168% according to the high sintering temperature and the number of moles of CuO composition. In the density test, it shows that the porosity value is 45.94% to 48.55% according to the sintering temperature and CuO mole composition. From the compression test, it shows that the compressive strength value is between 31.01 to 23,181 MPa. And in the XRD test, there is a new phase formed in the form of tricalcium phosphate (TCP) due to the sintering process that uses high temperatures, where the higher and more moles of CuO composition, the more tricalcium phospate (TCP) phase.
