OPTIMALISASI RUTE ANGKUTAN SAMPAH SUNGAI KOTA PALEMBANG MENGGUNAKAN METODE SAVING MATRIX
The increasing population growth rate which causes a decrease in the area used, this is a factor in the occurrence of locations that meet the requirements for riverbank areas. The city of Palembang faces the problem of flooding every year caused by garbage that fills the river from upstream to downstream. Waste management in watersheds is a special concern for the city government to suppress this flood incident. This management process requires a waste transportation distribution process by choosing the right route. This research aims to find the optimal route using the saving matrix method. The saving matrix method is design to be able to visit as many times point as possible with the aim of minimizing the distance, cost, and time of operating waste transportation. The transportation point looks for its coordinates using the google earth software. The research was conducted by finding out from one point of garbage collection to another, then sorting the route with nearest neighbor. The results of the calculations from this study get the total distance savings from all transportation routes of 5.183 Km then from the total distance, the fuel cost savings of Rp. 26,692 per day and Rp. 800,773 every month.
