KOMPOSISI DAN KELIMPAHAN DIATOM BENTIK PADA EKOSISTEM MANGROVE DI PULAU PAYUNG, KABUPATEN BANYUASIN, SUMATERA SELATAN
Payung island is an island located in the Musi Estuary and is located in the middle of the Musi River Estuary flow and is a mangrove ecosystem area. Benthic diatoms are diatoms that live on the surface of sediment or in the basic substrate (waters) of porewater. The purpose of this study is to analyze the composition, abundance and structure of benthic diatom communities. This research was conducted in September–December 2021. Sampling and parameter measurements were carried out on 5 station points, sample taken are sediment sample for benthic diatoms, porewater samples (nutrients), measurement of chemical physics parameters. The data is displayed in the form of tables and graphs and then result data is described descriptively and the relationship of benthic diatom abundance to environmental parameters using PCA analysis. Based on the results of research on the composition of the benthic diatom genus obtained are 25 genera divided into 16 orders of pennales, namely: Amphora, Asterionella, Coconeis, Cylindrotheca, Cymbella, Diatoma, Diploneis, Fragilaria, Navicula, Nitzschia, Pinnularia, Pleurosigma, Pseudo-nitzschia, Synedra, Thalassionema, Ulnaria and 9 orders of Centrales are genus Bacteriastrum, Biddulphia, Cerautaulina, Chaetoceros, Coscinodiscus, Cyclotella, Lauderia, Skeletonema and Triceratium. The abundance of benthic diatoms ranges from 12.264 x 103 cells/m3 – 145.464 x 103cells/m3. The diversity index (H') of benthic diatoms is in the low to medium category, The uniformity index (E) low to high category and and the dominance index (C) of the low to medium category.
