RASIO MAGNESIUM (MG) DAN KALSIUM (CA) PADA AIR PORI DAN SEDIMEN DI PULAU PAYUNG KABUPATEN BANYUASIN PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
Magnesium and Calcium are nutrients that interacting each other. The concentration of one of the minerals is too high, can cause other minerals to be depressed. The balance shift between Magnesium and Calcium can affect the organism that lives in it. Therefore, it is necessary to do an analysis of the Mg/Ca ratio on pores and sediment so that it can be utilized in maintaining environmental stability. This research was implemented in September to October 2021. Samples of pore water and sediment were taken at V stations on Payung Island with a purposive sampling method. Analysis of Magnesium and Calcium levels was carried out using atomic absorption spectrophotometry (SSA). Data analysis uses normality test, and Pearson correlation. Based on the results of the analysis of the ratio of Mg/Ca in pore water at the 5 stations, it was obtained 1:3, 1:2, 4:7, 5:7 and 3:4. While the results of the analysis of the ratio of Mg/Ca in the sediment at the 5 stations obtained 2:7 and 1:3. Mg/Ca ratio in the sediment at Payung island is considered good because the concentration of Calcium is greater than the concentration of Magnesium.
