PEMBENTUKAN MEMBRAN TIMAH DIOKSIDA (SnO2) DENGAN PENCAMPURAN POLYETHERSULFONE (PES): KARAKTERISTIK, SIFAT MEKANIS DAN KINERJA PENGOLAHAN AIR
Fabrication of Polyethersulfone (PES) membrane by adding Tin Dioxide (SnO2) using the flatsheet method. In this study, the effect of the addition of SnO2 will be analyzed to determine the mechanical properties of the membrane, as well as the performance of water treatment. The PES@ SnO2 membrane was characterized by SEM and the pore size was uniform until the addition of SnO2 reduced the surface agglomeration phenomenon. Tensile tests were carried out to determine the mechanical properties of the PES@SnO2 mixed membrane, It showed that 22.5% polyethersulfone (PES) increased the optimum tensile strength to 1,643 MPa. As for the permeability of the membrane itself, with a PES@SnO2 concentration of 22.5 wt%, a good flow rate reached 371,476 L/m2 h. The production of membranes added to tin dioxide (SnO2) opens a new way to produce membranes with uniform pores by reducing agglomeration and increasing membrane strength
