KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS BURUNG DI KAWASAN SUMUR TINGGI SUAKA MARGASATWA ISAU-ISAU RESORT KONSERVASI WILAYAH VII SUMATERA SELATAN
Wildlife Sanctuary is a forest area that has a lot of diversity of animal species, one of which is the diversity of bird species. The Isau-Isau Wildlife Sanctuary is an area with a mountainous rainforest type that is a habitat for birds in South Sumatra. Some areas of the Isau-Isau Wildlife Sanctuary are experiencing encroachment such as poaching and land conversion. This study was conducted to analysis the index of bird species diversity in the Sumur Tinggi area of the Isau-Isau Wildlife Conservation Resort Region VII, South Sumatra. Data were taken by direct observation in the field using the (point count) method and calculated using the Shannon species diversity index. The birds collected will be identified based on the Guide to Identification of Protected Wildlife Species and the Field Book of Birds in Sumatra, Java, Bali and Kalimantan. The conclusion of this research is that there are 22 species of birds which are distributed into 17 bird families. The diversity of bird species in secondary forest is higher than primary forest and gardens, there is 1 bird species that is included in the conservation status of NT (Near Threatened)/Near Threatened, namely the White-breasted Porcupine (Trichastoma rostratum) and one species is included in the conservation status of VU. (Vulnerable), namely the Rhinoceros Hornbill (Buceros rhinoceros), ecological disturbances due to land use change caused an increase in bird species in the area, thus affecting the increase in species diversity in the high well area of the Isau-Isau Wildlife Reserve
