AKTIVITAS SENYAWA ANTIOKSIDAN DAUN BALIK ANGIN (MALLOTUS PANICULATUS (LAM.) MULL. ARG)
Indonesia is a country located in the equator which makes the climate of Indonesia is a tropical climate. Countries that have a tropical climate have the advantage that the biodiversity in Indonesia's tropical forests can grow and develop well. This abundance of biological diversity is one aspect of production sources and plant sources that can be used as medicines for the community so that the potential of these medicinal plants must continue to be explored. Herbal plants in Indonesia are often used for traditional medicine. This is due to the advantages possessed by the herbal plant itself such as being cheaper, easy to obtain, easy to produce and low side effects. One of the plants that can be used for herbal medicine is Balik wind leaf (Malllotus paniculatus (Lam.) Mull. Arg.) which has good potential in its leaf content. Research on the bioactive compounds in the leaves of the leaf of the wind (Malllotus paniculatus (Lam.) Mull. Arg.) was conducted to determine that the leaf of the turning of the wind is used as a source of natural antioxidants. This research was also conducted to determine the antioxidant activity of the fractions of n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol water from the leaf of the wind, determine the class of compounds that have antioxidant activity and determine the value of the Inhibition Concentration (IC50) antioxidant compound in the leaves of the leaf wind. This research was carried out from August 2021 to December 2021 at the Genetics and Biotechnology laboratory, Department of Biology, FMIPA, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The research procedure begins with the preparation of the kirinyuh leaf sample, then extraction, fractionation using the liquid-liquid fractionation (FCC) method, then purification and isolation by column chromatography and testing the antioxidant activity of the compound using the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil) method. The results obtained from this study are extraction yields of 31.22% methanol extract. The results of the liquid-liquid fractionation obtained the n-hexane fraction yield of 30.61%, ethyl acetate fraction 35.91%, and methanol: water 33.46%. The results of the antioxidant activity test using a TLC plate, the n-hexane and ethyl acetate fractions had stronger antioxidant activity than the methanol:water fraction. Pure isolates N1, N2, N5, E2, and E5 were thought to belong to flavonoid compounds, pure isolates N4, E1, E3, E6 belonged to the terpenoid compound group and pure isolate E4 belonged to the tannin compound group. Pure isolates N1, N2, N4, E5 had moderate antioxidant activity with IC50 values of 112.465 ppm, 107.582 ppm, 132.147 ppm and 103.742 ppm, respectively. For pure isolates E1, E2 and E3 had strong antioxidant activity with IC50 values of 84.048 ppm, 86.758 ppm and 84.508 ppm, respectively. Meanwhile, pure isolates N4, E4, and E6 had weak antioxidant activity with IC50 values of 190.667 ppm, 197.659 ppm and 178.908 ppm, respectively
