PREPARASI DAN KARAKTERISASI NANOPARTIKEL EKSTRAK DAUN SELEDRI (Apium graveolens L.) DENGAN VARIASI KONSENTRASI NATRIUM ALGINAT MENGGUNAKAN METODE GELASI IONIK
Apigenin is the main flavonoid compound that has activity as a vasodilator that can increase hair growth. Flavonoid content in celery leaf extract was 49.83 mg/g with Rf value at TLC of 0.77. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the concentration of sodium alginate of each formula of 1.6 mg; 3.2 mg and 4.8 mg on the resulting nanoparticles. The manufacture of nanoparticles was use an ionic gelation method by dispersing celery leaf extract into chitosan then doing drop by drop of sodium alginate and CaCl2 as a crosslinker. The best formula is determined based on the highest EE percent value and stability of nanoparticles. The percent yield of EE formulas 1, 2, and 3 were 91.864%, 94.005%, and 96.839%, respectively. The results of the stability test for the nanoparticle formula of celery leaf extract using the heating cooling cycle method in formulas 1, 2, and 3, respectively, showed a decrease in levels of 9.708%; 9.097%; and 8.395% with a pH value of 5.270; 5,323; and 5.380 respectively and organoleptic in the form of a clear yellow-orange solution and a precipitate formed. The results of the nanoparticle characterization of the best formula (F3) using a particle size analyzer (PSA) showed a particle size value of 602nm; PDI 0.4286 and zeta potential +16.56 mV. Based on the data obtained, the nanoparticle suspension has quite good particle characteristics but is still not physically stable.
