AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI PARTIKEL PERAK EKTRAK ETANOL DAUN PEPAYA JEPANG (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius) TERHADAP Propionibacterium acnes dan Staphilococcus aureus
Silver particles have antibacterial properties. The antibacterial ability of silver particles is influenced by the physical characteristics of the particles such as size, shape, and surface properties. In the synthesis of silver using the green synthesis method by utilizing the ethanol extract of Japanese papaya leaves (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius). Japanese papaya leaves (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius) contain flavonoids and polyphenols which are used as bioreductants. The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial properties of silver particles against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus aureus. Phytochemical screening results from ethanol extract of Japanese papaya leaves contain flavonoid compounds, alkaloids, steroids, saponins, tannins and polyphenols which have the ability to reduce silver particles and the results of specific standardization carried out have met the requirements. The results of the thermodynamic stability test showed that there was a significant change in pH for all formulas and there was non-uniform stability for all formulas with the best formula being formula 5. Inhibitory power of silver particles was obtained at p < 0.05 with a strong inhibition zone criteria found in formula 1 (1 mL : 6 mM) with an average ±SD of 18.33±1.15b against Propionibacterium acnes and the criteria for a very strong zone of inhibition in formula 3 (3.5 mL : 3.5 mM) with an average±SD of 31.00±2.64b against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, and antibacterial effectiveness by 65.45% which is classified as moderate and 83.78% which is classified as strong.
