KORELASI PARAMETER KUAT GESER TANAH HASIL VANE SHEAR TEST DAN UNCONFINED COMPRESSION TEST
The soil is a medium for the establishment of a civil construction building. Good soil is soil that can withstand loads without significant settlement or displacement. Therefore, the bearing capacity of the soil must be known before the construction process is carried out. The bearing capacity of the soil to carry the load of the building can be calculated by the value of the shear strength of the soil. The material used in this study is soil taken from the Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The method used to obtain the value of the shear strength of this soil is by laboratory tests and direct tests in the field. For laboratory testing in this study using the unconfined compression test, while for field testing using the vane shear test. From this laboratory test and field test, the value of shear strength and compressive strength will be obtained which will then be compared with each of the two. The results showed that there was a difference in test results between the vane shear test and the unconfined compression test. From these differences, a correlation is obtained which shows that there is a relationship between the magnitude of Su and Qu. From this correlation, it is found that the equation has the coefficient of determination, R2 = 0.8647 or the correlation coefficient R = 0.9299 and shows that the Qu obtained from the unconfined compression test is 16.2% greater than the Su obtained from the vane shear test. From this equation, it can be concluded that the correlation between the unconfined compression test and the vane shear test is close to a good value because it has a correlation coefficient value (R) which is close to one (R≈1).
