PENGARUH PEMBERIAN LIMBAH ORGANIK HEWANI TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN PADA BENIH IKAN LELE SANGKURIANG (Clarias gariepinus Burchell, 1822)
Fish growth is strongly influenced by the feed given. So far, fish feed is dominated by commercial feeds with relatively expensive prices and the need for feed reaches 60-70% of the total fish farming needs, so it is necessary to find alternative feeds to reduce costs and increase profits for fish farmers. Household organic waste can be put to good use as feed, such as fish feed. Catfish (Clarias gariepinus) is a type of freshwater fish that is omnivorous but tends to be carnivorous. Therefore, the frequency of feeding, especially those from animal sources, both artificial and natural, needs to be given as often as possible to support the growth of sangkuriang catfish (Subandiyono and Hastuti, 2008). Household animal organic waste that can be used as fish feed is shrimp heads, fish innards and chicken feathers. The research was conducted from January to March 2022. The research was carried out by the Gandus Fish Seed Center (BBI), Palembang City and the Microbiology Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sriwijaya University. This study aims to determine the value of feed efficiency, food conversion ratio (FCR) and growth of sangkuriang catfish (Clarias gariepinus) on several types of animal organic waste. To determine the type of feed from some animal organic waste that is best for supporting the growth of sangkuriang catfish (Clarias gariepinus). The research was conducted by giving several types of feed with treatment A0 = Control, A1 = Shrimp Head Waste, A2 = Offal Waste, and A3 = Chicken Feather Waste. The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with a 95% confidence level. Furthermore, if the data shows a significant effect, it is continued with the Least Significant Difference Test (BNT) with a test level of 5%. The conclusion of the study was that the feeding of organic waste in treatment A1 (Shrimp head waste) was the best type of animal organic waste among other treatments in supporting the growth of sangkuriang catfish (Clarias gariepinus).
