PT Bukit Asam Tbk is one of the MIND ID Holding Member companies, which produces various types of quality coal or what is known as mine brand, one of which is mine brand AL 53. Mine brand quality coal production aims to meet coal supply needs, both for domestic purposes domestic and export. The quality of mine brand coal is largely determined by the specification of coal quality parameters, including calorific value (FC), moisture content (MC), ash content (AC), valatille matter (VM) and fixed carbon in ASTM standards. Problems that occur in the quality of coal in a mining location are influenced by internal factors such as mining activities and handling coal transportation, but are also influenced by external factors, namely the influence of the environment and weather at the mine site. The stages of this analytical activity include sampling, coal preparation and sample analysis in the laboratory of PT.Bukit Asam Tbk. The purpose of this research is to study and analyze the quality deviation of mine brand AL - 53 coal from the mining front, inpit stockpile, TLS stockpile to the train carriages before being sent to Kertapati and Tarahan for domestic and export market. From the results of the sampling study at three locations, namely in the stockpile inpit, Kertapati terminal and Tarahan terminal, it was found that coal quality deviations (deviations) were outside the tolerance limit of the AL - 53 mine brand specifications, namely via the TLS -Kertapati train carriage, the calorific value decreased from 5171 kcal/ kg to 5152 kcal/kg while coal in Tarahan via the TLS - Tarahan train carriage decreased the calorific value from 5171 kcal/kg to 5159 kcal/kg. Based on the problem regarding the deviation (deviation) of coal quality, the authors conducted an analysis to obtain efforts to control the quality of mine brand coal AL – 53. mine brand AL – 53 which is focused on efforts to control water content, control contamination in coal and evaluate the implementation of sampling.
