Indonesia has a country with abundant natural wealth. One of Indonesia's wealth that should be proud of is tin. Indonesia has the second largest tin reserves after China with the second largest production in 2021. Tin is a strategic metal in advancing the Indonesian economy, considering the role of tin in supporting technologically innovative products. One of these products is the use of tin oxide (SnO2) as a basic material in the manufacture of gas sensors. Research conducted by Husein (2019) regarding pollutant gas sensors, the best quality content requires a tin oxide (SnO2) content that meets the standard, which is 48.63%. To achieve the appropriate levels of tin (SnO2), it is necessary to process tin sand through the gravity concentration method, which is the process of separating minerals and impurities by utilizing the principle of differences in specific gravity using a pan american jig. This study aims to analyze the feed content, analyze the variables that affect the processing of tin sand using a pan american jig and analyze the results of processing tin sand as a tin oxide product on gas sensors. The variables used in this study focused on water discharge, processing time, and bed thickness. The water discharge used is 25.8 l/minute, 33 l/minute, 36 l/minute. The processing time used is 6 minutes, 11 minutes and 16 minutes. The thickness of the bed used is 7 mm, 12 mm and 17 mm. Based on the results of the study, there were 10 experiments that met the tin oxide industry standard for gas sensors. The highest concentration obtained was at 33 l/minute of water discharge, 16 minutes of time, and 12 mm of bed thickness, with a grade of 49.04%, with a recovery of 89.36%. On the other hand, the highest recovery of 91.07% occurred at a water flow rate of 25.8 l/minute, a duration of 6 minutes, and a bed thickness of 7 mm but had a level of 46.95%. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the ideal water discharge occurs at 33 l/minute, the longer the processing time, the greater the thickness of the bed used, the higher the level with low recovery. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the greater the water discharge, the longer the processing time, and the thicker the bed used, it will produce high content with low recovery.
