ANALISIS PENINGKATAN KADAR PASIR TIMAH DENGAN ALAT JIG UNTUK KEBUTUHAN SENSOR GAS BERBASIS TIMAH OKSIDA (SnO2) DI LABORATORIUM PENGOLAHAN BAHAN GALIAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
Current technological developments have affected all fields. Along with these developments, it makes humans have a greater desire to know sophisticated technology, because it can make it easier for humans to do anythings. In the current era of globalization, which is marked by the number of people using technology to help ease work, so many devices have been created with innovative technology as support, which one is gas sensors. The gas sensor is a device that can detect the presence of gas. To detect gas, there are several other oxides that can be used for this sensor, but in this case tin oxide is used because tin oxide is a semiconductor element that can accept heat up to 200˚C. For the gas sensor requirement, the tin sand content in the feed does not meet the standard so that the tin sand needs to be processed to reach the required level, which is 48.61%. In this study, 27 experiments were carried out and the fixed variables used were water discharge and processing time. While the independent variables are the weight of the feed, the thickness of the bed, and the frequency of blows. From 27 experiments, the processing results obtained are as many as 9 experiments with levels of 48.61% which meet the requirements for tin oxide-based gas sensors. The optimal grade and recovery values that meet the requirements come from experiments with a feed weight of 500 grams, a bed thickness of 17 mm, and a blow frequency of 200 Hz, and the losses that occur are 5.4%.
