ANALISIS PEMANFAATAN PASIR TIMAH UNTUK MEMENUHI KEBUTUHAN INDUSTRI KACA FLUORINE TIN OXIDE DALAM SKALA LABORATORIUM
Tin sand is a sand deposit that contains several minerals, including the mineral cassiterite (SnO2) which is one of the materials used in the fluorine tin oxide glass manufacturing industry. The Sn content in the tin sand used for the manufacture of fluorine tin oxide glass must meet the requirements of 33.3%. Generally, the levels of Sn contained in tin sand mining results have low levels, so it is necessary to process the tin sand feed to increase the Sn content in order to meet the criteria for the manufacture of fluorine tin oxide glass. This study aims to analyze the tin sand content before processing, analyze the factors that affect the increase in tin sand content, and analyze the tin sand content after processing. This study uses a pan american jig with western feed operating variables, stroke frequency and stroke length. The weight of the feed used is 0.5 kg, 1 kg, and 1.5 kg. The frequency of the blows used are 19 rpm, 21 rpm, and 23 rpm. The stroke lengths used are 0.5 mm, 0.6 mm, and 0.7 mm. Based on the research conducted, there were 20 experiments that had increased levels of Sn so that they could meet the criteria for making fluorine tin oxide glass. The highest levels of Sn in this study were found in studies with a variation of 1 kg of feed weight, 19 rpm blow frequency and 0.5 mm stroke length, which was 40.47% and the recovery value was 90.85%
