FORMULASI DAN UJI PENETRASI SECARA IN VITRO GEL SUBMIKRO POLY-LACTIC-CO-GLICOLYC ACID (PLGA) PEMBAWA EKSTRAK DAUN PEGAGAN (Centella asiatica L.) DENGAN VARIASI KONSENTRASI GELLING AGENT CARBOPOL® 934
The stability of flavonoid in pegagan leaf extract is not good due to flavonoid compunds that are easily degraded at high temperatures. Pegagan leaf extract (Cantella asiatica L.) has a high flavonoid content and also has potential as an antioxidant to brighten the skin. Flavonoid stability can be enhanced by making it in the form of submicro particles. This study aims to formulate submicro particles into a gel dosage form and determine its penetration ability when compared to the ethanol extract of pegagan leaf which is not formed in the form of submicro particles. The submicro particle gel of pegagan leaf ethanol extract was made in formulas F1, F2, and F3 with a ratio of gelling agent concentration in a row of 1:1,5:2 and there is formula 4 which is made with the best concentration of gelling agent & the active substance is not formed in submicro particles. The results of the evaluation and stability of the gel showed that the best formula was F1 with the characteristics of pH, homogenity, viscosity, adhesion, dispersibility, and washing power respectively 6,2; homogeneous; 3417.4167 cPs; 209,33 seconds; 5,1 cm; 21,3 mL. Penetration testing was carried out in vitro using the Franz Diffusion Cell method with cellophane membrane. The result of the stability test showed no significant changes in organoleptic and pH. The best penetration ability is found in formula 1 with a penetration percentage is 35,83% which is measured when the gel passes through the cellophane membrane in 120 minutes. Keyword(s): Pegagan leaf, Centella asiatica L., Carbopol® 934, Flavonoid,Franz Diffusion Cell.
