Usnic acid has low solubility and has potential as a drug because of its antibiotic, antifungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic, antiproliferative, and cytotoxic effects. Development of nanocarrier delivery system with PLGA polymer and PVA stabilizer to overcome the low solubility of usnic acid. This study aims to obtain the best formula for usnic acid nanocarrier which has good characteristics and stability. Usnic acid was characterized. In this study there were 3 formulas with PVA variations of 0.05%, 0.1% and 0.15%. The manufacture of usnic acid nanocarriers was carried out using the emulsion solvent evaporation method and characterization and determination of the percentage of adsorption efficiency were carried out to obtain the best formula. The best formula was carried out by particle characterization and stability test. Usnic acid is in the form of yellow crystals with a melting point of 204.3-204.8°C, Rf 0.45 and a maximum absorption wavelength of 230 nm in methanol and 287 nm in water. The results of the percent adsorption efficiency of formulas 1, 2 and 3 showed values of 96%, 92% and 89% respectively. The best formula for usnic acid nanocarrier was found in formula 1 with a PVA concentration of 0.05%. The result of particle characterization of usnic acid nanocarrier showed particle size of 435.8 nm, polydispersity index of 0.328 and zeta potential of -11.4 mV and increased solubility after the development of preparations in the form of asm usnat nanocarrier. The results of the stability test showed that the usnic acid nanocarrier was stable in three storage conditions with a release model following the 0th order, energy 23.42 cal/mol, kinetic constant 0.0338 mg/day at 25°C with a shelf life of 57 days and prediction at a temperature of 5°C with a shelf life of 70 days. Based on the results of parametric statistical analysis using one-way ANOVA showed a p value
