PREPARASI DAN KARAKTERISASI SUBMIKRO PARTIKEL POLY- (LACTIC-CO-GLYCOLIC ACID) (PLGA) PEMBAWA EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN PEGAGAN (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) DENGAN VARIASI KONSENTRASI PLGA
Pegagan leaf is one of the plants that contain high levels of flavonoid compounds, based on research conducted it was found 42.88 mg/g extract. This flavonoid compound has properties that tend to be unstable, one way that can be do by formulating pegagan leaves into submicroparticle preparations. Submicroparticle preparations were made using emulsion solvent evaporation method, using 3 main ingredients including PLGA, PVA and ethanol extract of pegagan leaves. PLGA acts as a polymer that will coat the extract and PVA as a stabilizer. Variations concentration of PLGA used were 50 mg, 75 mg and 100 mg, while the concentration of PVA used was 40 mg and the extract concentration was 158 mg. Determination of the best formula is done by looking at the results of the percent efficiency of encapsulation obtained from the three formulas, 93.6809% formula 1, 85.3474% formula 2 and 88.7603% formula 3. The best formula results have a percent encapsulation efficiency value that is closest to 100%, so that formula 1 is obtained as the best formula. The particle size obtained in the best formulation was 288.1667±3.4195 nm, the PDI was 0.371±0.0045 and the zeta potential value was -10.6333±0.1154. Physical stability testing of the best formula obtained decrease in pH decrease by 0.54pH by 0.54 and obtained odorless, light green in color like moss and no sediment. Key words : Ethanol extract of pegagan leaves, flavonoids, PLGA, PVA, Submicro Particle
