UJI AIR ASAM TAMBANG TERHADAP LAJU PERTUMBUHAN DAN KELANGSUNGAN HIDUP IKAN TENGADAK (BARBONYMUS SCHWANENFELDII)
Coal mining activities using an open pit mining system will have an impact on changes in the landscape, physical, chemical, and biological properties of the soil. One of the negative impacts is the formation of ex-mining ponds filled with water called voids. Ex-minning ponds that left behind at the end of mining activities will have a negative impact on the environment such as acid mine drainage. Acid mine drainage is formed due to sulfide minerals in coal which are oxidized by water and air, causing the water to be very acidic and usually contains high concentrations of heavy metals such as iron and manganese. The growth rate and survival rate of fish are influenced by genetic factors, water quality, feed, and pests and diseases. The growth rate and survival rate of fish are influenced by genetic factors, water quality, feed, and pests and diseases. This research was carried out from January to March 2022 in the Biosystematics laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. This study used a Randomized Block Design with 5 treatments, namely P0% (control), P10%, P30%, P50% and P70% acid mine drainage, and data analysis using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) if there is a significant difference between treatments, then continued with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT), with a confidence level (α) of 5%. Based on the research, it was shown that the 70% acid mine water treatment had a fish growth rate of only 0.15 g/week, when compared to the 0% (control) treatment, which was 0.28 g/week. The survival of the smallest tegadak fish in the 70% acid mine drainage treatment is 10%, compared to the 0% treatment (control) which is 80%, it can be concluded that the higher the concentration of acid mine drainage water given, the lower the growth and survival rate tinfoil barb (Barbonymus schwanenfeldii).
