OPTIMASI DAN KARAKTERISASI TRANSFERSOM FRAKSI ETIL ASETAT EKSTRAK KULIT BUAH MANGGIS (Garcinia mangostana L.) DENGAN VARIASI KONSENTRASI PHOSPHOLIPON 90G DAN TWEEN 80
The pericarp of the mangosteen fruit (Garcinia mangostana L.) is proven to be a strong antioxidant because it contains high xanthone compounds. The main compound derived from xanthones in the mangosteen pericarp, α -mangostin has activity as an alternative skin lightening agent in the treatment of hyperpigmentation. The high permeability of the transfersome delivery system is able to increase the penetration of highly lipophilic α -mangostin compounds into the skin. This study aims to obtain good transfersome characteristics of the ethyl acetate fraction of mangosteen pericarp extract through an optimization process using the 22 factorial design method through Design-Expert 12®. Phospholipon 90G and tween 80 were used as factors for the response of the encapsulation efficiency value, the value of decreasing the efficiency of encapsulation and the value of decreasing the pH. The optimum formula was characterized by testing using a particle size analyzer (PSA) to determine particle size, polydispersity index and zeta potential. The optimum concentration of phospholipone 90G was obtained at 1,8 g and tween 80 was obtained at 0,2 mL with an encapsulation efficiency value of 97,2342 ± 0,0076, a decrease in encapsulation efficiency of 0,4189 ± 0,0076 and a decrease in pH of 0,08 ± 0,01. The results of the characterization of the optimum transfersome formula obtained a particle size of 354,4 nm, a polydispersity index of 0,679 and a zeta potential of -24,0 mV.
