UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN MELINJO (GNETUM GNEMON L.) TERHADAP TIKUS PUTIH JANTAN GALUR WISTAR YANG DIINDUKSI CCL4
Melinjo leaves (Gnetum gnemon L.) have various benefits for the body, one of which is to treat degenerative diseases. One of the secondary metabolites that may act as antioxidants is flavonoid compounds. Flavonoid compounds can counteract free radicals that come from outside and inside the body. Antioxidant activity of ethanolic extract of melinjo leaves was carried out in vivo to determine the effect on antioxidant activity by measuring MDA levels, knowing catalase enzyme activity and macroscopic and histopathological features of CCl4-induced rat liver. The treatments were divided into 6 groups, namely normal, negative, positive control group, treatment I with a dose of 400 mg/kgBB, treatment II with a dose of 800 mg/kgBB and treatment III with a dose of 1200 mg/kgBB. The average results of MDA levels in the normal, negative, positive groups, given extract doses of 400, 800 and 1200 mg/kgBB, respectively, were 0.684; 3.163; 0.845; 2,244; 0.915 and 0.865 nmol/mL. The average results of the catalase enzyme activity in the normal, negative, positive groups, given extract doses of 400, 800 and 1200 mg/kgBB respectively were 17,979; 4.621; 26,653; 9,058; 14,862 and 25,333 U/mL. The macroscopic and histopathological results of the liver showed an improvement after being given ethanol extract of melinjo leaves at doses of 400, 800 and 1200 mg/kgBB when compared to the negative group. The results showed that the ethanolic extract of melinjo leaves significantly (p
