The overburden stripping process is carried out by ripping the overburden before the overburden is loaded by a digging tool. The ripping activity was carried out by the Komatsu D 375 A-6 bulldozer ripper unit with a target of stripping overburden in October of 528,213 BCM/Month and the actual stripping of overburden was not achieved, which was only able to dissipate 437,167 BCM/Month. This is due to the obstacles that occur in the field. The purpose of this study was to determine the ripping method used in ripping overburden, evaluate the productivity of bulldozer-ripper to meet the overburden stripping target and analyze the factors that influence the overburden ripping process. The research was conducted directly at PT. Duta Tambang Engineering, with research stages from administration and field orientation, primary and secondary data collection, data processing, draft report preparation and consultation with supervisors. The type of ripping material is sandstone with a rock ompressive strength value of USC 4.91 Mpa and a seismic wave velocity value of 1558.1 m/s. The ripping method used is the cross ripping method. The productivity of the Komatsu D 375 A-6 bulldozer ripper is, the first data is 488.603 BCM/Month, the second is 487.072 BCM/Month, the third is 544.041 BCM/Month, the fourth is 531.933 BCM/Month and the fifth data is 534.610 BCM/Month, it was found that the cross ripping method with ripping spacing of 1.11 meters and ripper depth of 1.27 meters can be applied because it can meet the target of stripping ripping overburden. Factors that affect the ripping overburden process, including the space between ripping, penetration depth of ripping, ripping distance, and ripping cycle time.
