The existence of limestone lithology in the Jambi Sub-Basin is an interesting phenomenon to study on the type, environment and stages of the limestone diagenesis process. The research is devoted to the limestones of the Mersip Peneta Formation located in Maribung Village, Limun District, Sarolangun Regency, Jambi. The focus of this study is to determine the process of diagenesis, the environment of diagenesis and the stages of diagenesis of limestones of the Mersip Peneta Formation (KJpm) members. The three research focuses will use two research methods in the form of field observations, sampling and laboratory analysis, namely petrographic analysis. Based on the results of the analysis of the six samples, it can be seen that there are two types of limestone, namely Mudstone and Crystalline according to Dunham (1962), then the diagenesis process that takes place in the limestones of the Mersip Peneta Formation (KJpm) in the form of Microbial Micritization, Cementation, Compaction, Dissolution and Neomorphism. The diagenesis environment that occurs is in marine phreatic, burial environment and meteoric vadose. The stages that take place in the research area are the stages of eogenesis, mesogenesis and telogenesis caused by the lifting process of limestone.
