UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN FRAKSI N-HEKSAN DAUN BELUNTAS (Pluchea indica L.) PADA TIKUS PUTIH JANTAN GALUR WISTAR YANG DIINDUKSI CCl4
Beluntas leaf have antioxidant activity by inhibiting lipid peroxidation thereby preventing the formation of malondialdehyde (MDA). The purpose of this study is to determine the effect on antioxidant activity of n-hexane fraction of beluntas leaves by measuring MDA levels, knowing catalase enzyme activity and macroscopic and histopathological features of CCl4-induced rat liver. The treatments were divided into 6 groups, namely normal, negative, positive control group, treatment I with a dose of 10 mg/200gBB, treatment II with a dose of 20 mg/200gBB and treatment III with a dose of 40 mg/200gBB. The average results of MDA levels in the normal, negative, positive groups, given fraction doses of 10, 20 and 40 mg/200gBB, respectively, were 0,677; 2,732; 0,821; 1,112; 0,934 and 0,855 nmol/mL. The average results of the catalase enzyme activity in the normal, negative, positive groups, given fraction doses of 10, 20 and 40 mg/200gBB respectively were 13,081; 4,621; 21,448; 8,6288; 16,751 and 22,200 U/mL. The macroscopic and histopathological results of the liver showed an improvement after being given n-hexane fraction of beluntas leaves at doses of 10, 20 and 40 mg/200gBB when compared to the negative group.
