KANDUNGAN KALSIUM DAN FOSFOR PADA CANGKANG KERANG SIMPING (PLACUNA PLACENTA) DAN KERANG DARAH (ANADARA GRANOSA) YANG BERASAL DARI PERAIRAN PESISIR BANYUASIN, SUMATERA SELATAN
Bivalves are natural resources that play a role in Indonesian waters. People usually eat the meat and leave the shells of the shells. This unused shellfish can cause other problems, especially environmental hygiene. Therefore, it is deemed necessary to conduct a comparative analysis of the calcium and phosphorus content of scallops (P. placenta) and blood clams (A. granosa) which can increase the added value of clam shells. This research was carried out in July-September 2021. Sampling of shellfish at a shellfish collector in Sungsang Village, Banyuasin, South Sumatra. Samples of shellfish were taken in 3 size categories with a total of 3 shells in each category. Analysis of calcium content was carried out using atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS) and phosphorus using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Data analysis used anova test, BNT test and independent t-test. Based on the results of the analysis of this study, the shells of P. placenta in categories A, B and C contained 41.13%, 38.75%, 35.81% calcium and 0.00054%, 0.00043%, 0.00014% phosphorus. In addition, the shells of A. granosa in categories A, B and C contained 45.74%, 42.17%, 37.11% calcium and 0.00049%, 0.00035%, 0.00001% phosphorus. Scallop shells and blood clams can potentially be used as a natural source of calcium.
