The location of this research is in the Pulau Region, Pajar Bulan District, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province. The research area is located on the southern slope of the Gumai Mountains. Steep slopes support field conditions with a high elevation, and some land is used for plantations. These factors are the causes of landslides in the study area. In the research conducted, it was found that several observation locations experienced rock or soil mass movements (landslides). The research was conducted using direct field observation methods to obtain evidence of landslides that occurred in the study area and slope stability analysis based on remote sensing with a vegetation index and relief diversity, in this case using GIS application, Landsat 8 data related to vegetation index, as well as other supporting data. The vegetation index has a relationship with relief diversity; if the relief diversity value is high, the vegetation index value is low. Landslide Prone map of the research area shows the study area has a high probability of landslides. So a framework is needed for reference in disaster mitigation.
