STUDI ZONASI ALTERASI HIDROTHERMAL FORMASI KAPUR GRANIT DAERAH PUBIAN DAN SEKITARNYA, KABUPATEN LAMPUNG TENGAH, PROVINSI LAMPUNG.
Pubian area and its surroundings, Central Lampung Regency, Lampung Province are part of the Kapur Granit Formation (Kgr) with a lithology of granite and granodiorite. Igneous rocks exposed in this study area have interesting characteristics to study, especially because they show hydrothermal alteration. This study aims to classify the distribution pattern and zoning of hydrothermal alteration that occurs. The method used in this research is field observation and petrographic analysis. Through petrographic observations in the thin section, lithology shows alteration minerals such as secondary quartz, secondary biotite, sericite, calcite, chlorite, epidote, actinolite, and feldspar. Furthermore, the set of minerals in each thin section is grouped based on the temperature that affects the formation of alterations. As for the mineral assemblage and the temperature of its formation, the hydrothermal alteration type consists of the argillic type consisting of quartz, chlorite, and sericite minerals that are formed in the temperature range of 200o-400oC, the propylitic type consists of quartz, chlorite, epidote, and actinolite minerals formed at the temperature range is 100o-300oC, and the phyllic type consists of quartz, chlorite, sericite, and secondary biotite minerals formed in the temperature range of 200o-300oC. These types of hydrothermal alteration are still classified as low to moderate intensity (25-50%) because the altered minerals can still be identified with the base mass and original fragments.
