The research had been done at Bangsal Village Pampangan District Ogan Komering Ilir Regency on March 2013 to May 2013. The purpose of this research were 1) To Find the local wisdom in lowland swamp managing 2) to Find the social-economic and institutional constraints in lowland swamp managing 3) to analyze the opportunities local as a basic empowerment of lowland swamp farmer.
The research was conducted in the Bangsal village of Pampangan District in March to May 2013. The method used in this study is a qualitative study using ethnometodology approach, while research informants consisted of key informants and informant supporters, informants whole consists of six informants, who are all from the Bangsal village of.
The Results of this study found that the chances of local wisdom as farmers empowerment in lowland swamp utilization in Bangsal Village, 1) Found local wisdom in lowland swamp managing such as lowland swamp rice processing, processing of swamp buffalo, marsh fish processing 2) Found local wisdom in lowland swamp managing was social – economic constraints such as low education, minimum land, capital constraints, institutional constraints
(financial and institutional capital, which may support the institutional spawned transportation system, the instutional to give guarantees). 3) Analyze the opportunities local wisdom as a basic farmers empowerment which is multiple use of land, the values of local wisdom such as customs, mutual assistance, local institutions.
