The Harau Valley Tourism Area is located in Harau District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra. Harau Valley has a beautiful landscape and of ers various types of tourist attractions that attract many domestic and foreign tourists. Harau Valley Tourism Area was proclaimed as one of the leading tourist areas of West Sumatra. However, behind the high tourism potential, accommodation supporting tourism is still limited, especially lodging. The provision of resort hotels can meet the needs of tourists as a place of rest and recreation for tourists. The design of this resort hotel elevates the potential of the surrounding environment in the form of landscapes and local culture. The site is located in a protected forest which requires a lot of consideration in nature conservation in the form of zoning and building structure determination. The orientation of the building takes into account the natural scenery around the site. The use of stage structures in the mass of villas and wooden decks on pedestrian paths to minimize pavement on the site. The materials used are relatively light materials such as steel and wood to minimize the load and damage to the tread. Not only that, the placement of building masses in groups and centered on public facilities was adapted from the settlement pattern of the Minangkabau community, namely the "Koto" settlement pattern. Consideration of nature conservation is taken into account until the arrangement of the drainage system which at this resort hotel surrounds the site and is placed with water gates to control the water discharge at the site.
