Ethyl acetate fraction of breadfruit leaves (Artocarpus altilis) contains many secondary metabolites, one of which is the phenolic compounds. Phenolic compounds in ethyl acetate fraction of breadfruit leaves are suspected as diuretics. This study aims to determine the effect from different doses of the ethyl acetate fraction of breadfruit leaves as a diuretic. Diuretic activity test used 30 male white rats which were divided into 6 treatment groups. The normal group was given distilled water, the negative group was given 4.5% NaCl, the positive group was given furosemide 20 mg/200gBB, and groups I, II, and III were given ethyl acetate fraction of breadfruit leaves with a dose respectively 25 mg/200gBW, 50 mg/200gBW, and 100mg/200gBW. Parameters observed included increase in urine volume and levels of Na+, K+, and Cl- ions.
