ANALISIS PEMBANGKIT LISTRIK TENAGA MIKRO HIDRO JENIS TURBIN PELTON DENGAN VARIASI DIAMETER NOZZLE
The need for electrical energy is increasing over time due to the increase in residential areas and the rapid growth of technology, causing the need for electricity supply to become very large. A number of power plants still use fossil energy as the main source of electricity, although the number is currently limited. The Pelton turbine type Micro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) is an instrument that can be utilized and developed to replace the role of fossil energy. In this study, the authors designed and made a prototype of PLTMH using a Pelton turbine by varying the nozzle diameter. This test uses a nozzle diameter variation of ¼ inch, ½ inch, and 1 inch with a load of 3 watt LED lights. In the no-load test, the highest voltage was produced by a variation of the nozzle diameter of ¼ inch with a value of 12.74 Volts and the lowest voltage was produced by a variation of the nozzle diameter of 1 inch with a value of 9.63 Volt. The highest power from the nozzle diameter variation of ¼ inch with 3Watt lamp as load with a value of 1.7778 Watt and the smallest power occurs at a nozzle diameter variation of 1 inch with a value of 0.9138 Watt. The highest rotation speed was obtained with a nozzle diameter variation of ¼ inch with a value of 5804.8 rpm and the lowest rotation speed was obtained with a nozzle diameter variation of 1 inch with a value of 4318.4 rpm. This is in accordance with the law of continuity where the fluid velocity will decrease when passing through a wide cross-sectional area and increase when passing through a narrow cross-sectional area. In this study, the law of continuity is proven when water that is shot into the turbine with a nozzle diameter of ¼ inch has a faster velocity and blows water to each blade compared to variations of the nozzle diameter of ½ inch and 1 inch.
