Correct tooth bmshing habits of Indonesia's population was only 2.3 percent based on Riskesdas 2013. Oral health education aimed to change the behavior of a person or group of people who are less beneficial for dental health, be more beneficial for the health of their teeth. Pocketbook was one of the health education media. Oral health pocketbook was a 1 lem x 15 cm book which contains pictures and information about oral cavity, fiinction of teeth, oral disease and the way to keep the teeth and mouth’s health. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of oral health pocketbook on the knowledge level of fourth-grade students of Elementary School. The research method of this study was quasi experiment with pretest-postest with control group design. The total sample for this study was 66 fourth-grade students in Bina Ilmi Elementary School Palembang which divide into two groups, 33 students in control group and other 33 students in experiment group. The obtained data were analyzed using Wilcoxon test. The level knowledge of students before being given pocketbooks were 33.3% in less category, just 18.2%, and 48.5% in well category. After being given dental health education, an increased of knowledge level in the experimental group who received oral health pocketbook was 3.04% in just and 96.96% in well category.
