KORELASI ANTARA GULA DARAH 2 JAM POSTPRANDIAL DAN HbA1c DI LABORATORIUM KLINIK GRAHA SPESIALIS RSMH PALEMBANG
Background: Blood sugar test must be done to make the diagnosis of diabetes mellitus. Sometimes, blood sugar tests are considered less deseribes the situation of the patient's blood sugar. For that, a better another test is required, ie HbAlc test. There have been many studies which claimed there was a strong correlation between the value of HbAlc and fasting blood sugar levels. However, the debate is still the diagnostic value of blood sugar for the 2-hour postprandial estimate HbAlc; and fasting blood sugar contributions and postprandial blood sugar to determine blood sugar control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Therefore, researchers conducted studies to analyze the correlation between blood sugar 2 hour postprandial levels and a HbAlc value. Methods: This type of research is analytical observational cross sectional design. Study population is patients who do blood sugar checks at Graha Specialist Clinical Laboratory RSMH Palembang. With purposive sampling method, 121 people obtained the study sample. Results: The blood sugar 2 hour postprandial levels abnormalities are 65.3% and normal are 34.7%. Most age subjects with blood glucose 2 hours postprandial levels abnormal are 15-64 years (52.3%). Most gender research subjects with blood glucose 2 hours postprandial levels abnormalities are male (34.7%). The HbAlc values abnormalities are 61.2% and normal are 38.8%. Most age subjects with abnormal HbAlc values are 15-64 years (31.5%). Most gender subject with abnormal HbAlc values are male (31,4%). Comparisons between men with women are 1,02:1. The mean ± Standard deviation of blood sugar 2 hour postprandial levels and HbAlc values were respectively 191,1 ± 89,3 mg/dl and 7,0 ± 1,98%. The results of cross tabulation between blood sugar 2 hour postprandial levels with HbAlc values showed that in patients with blood sugar 2 hour postprandial levels abnormalities, obtained for 15 (12,4%) men had normal HbAlc values and 64 (52.9%) people have HbAlc value is not normal. Conclusion: There is a strong correlation between blood sugar 2 hour postprandial and HbAlc value (r = 0.638; p=0.0005).
