FORTIFIKASI TEPUNG KULIT PISANG KEPOK (Musa paradisiaca L) DALAM FORMULASI MASKER PEEL-OFF SERTA UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN DENGAN METODE DPPH
Kepok banana peel (musa paradisiaca L) contain flavonoid compound that can be made as antioxidant source to ward off free radicala. Peel-off mask is one of alternative preparations that can enchance user convenience and is expected to increase antioxidant activity of kepok banana flour. This research aims to determine the effect of variations in kepok banan flour concentration, PVA and gelatin tto peel-off mask pysycal properties and to find out the antioxidant activity from peel-off mask preparation. This research was designed using 23 factorial desaign so that we get 8 formulas with variations in the concentration of 5 % and10 % kepok banana peel flour, 12% and 14% PVA, and also 3% and 5% gelatin. The results of the physical properties test of peel-off masks produced from 8 formulas have a yellowish brown to brown color, distinctive odor, semi-solid form, pH of about 5, spreadability of about 4,3 cm up to 5,7 cm, drying time is about 14, 23 minutes to 23,8 minutes and no syneresis occurs. Based on the results of data analysis on physical properties 5th formula as the optimum formula and 4th formula as a comparison formula. testing the antioxidant activity of vitamin C as a positive control, the 4th formula and 5th formula had IC50 values consecutively at 5,24 ppm, 355,64 ppm, and 525,41 ppm. Formula 5 and Formula 4 are proven to have antioxidant activity even though it’s in very weak category, but in this research it was proven that the effect of base concentration in made of preparations will also affect the activity produced.
