ANALISIS SURFACE ROUGHNESS MATERIAL STAINLESS STEEL 304 DINDING TIPIS PADA MESIN MILLING MENGGUNAKAN PENDINGIN KRIOGENIK
Cryogenic cutting is one of the most frequently used methods. The choice of low-temperature cooling medium determines the cooling and lubrication performance. Currently, the cooling medium commonly used for cryogenic cutting is liquid carbon dioxide CO2. CO2 is a cheap, safe and environmentally friendly cooling medium and can be easily used and stored. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of machining parameters on the cryogenic milling process on the surface roughness of Stainless Steel 304. To analyze the effect of machining parameters on the cryogenic milling process on the surface roughness of Stainless steel using the Response Surface Methodology method. Main machining parameters such as cutting speed (Vc), Feeding speed (Fz) are used as independent variables, with constant radial (ar) and axial (ax) depth of cut. The dependent variable in this study is the parameter of roughness Ra. The empirical equation of the mathematical model for each surface roughness response is made in the form of a factor code and analysis of variance (ANOVA) is used to analyze the empirical equation of the mathematical model. From the Ra mathematical model equation, it is found that the feed rate fz causes the most significant effect on the surface roughness Ra. And conversely on the influence of the cutting speed Vc where increasing the value of Vc causes a decrease in the value of Ra.
