Depression is a mental disorder that often occurs in the past society until modem day. Teenagers can not escape the depression because they are in transition of physical and mental development that occurs between childhood and adulthood, so they are very vulnereble to depression . This study aimed to determine the relationship between depression in the homestead students of Medicine Faculty of Sriwijaya University grade 2011 regular. Kind of this research is analytic cross-sectional survey approach. Pupolation this research is a student of school of medicine university sriwijaya the grade of 2011 as many as 146 a person ,but the fulfill of inclution crteria are 121 respondents . Data retrieval is done by doing of two types of quetionnaries , personality profiling and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale Sociodemographic characteristic on this research covering gender , the age, parental employment, allowance per month, a tribe or place of origin , the servant, parental marital status . The dominated gendre is women 84 (69%) . The most respondens are 18 years old 69 (57%) . Most respondent’s parrents employments are Civil Servant 47 (38,8%). Allowance densest populations on Rp. 500.001 , 00 - Rp. 1 000 . 1 000,00 49(40,5%), 116 (95,9%) got it ffom parrents and 111 (91,7%) fell that enought. The most tribe or place of origin densest populations of Palembang 57 (47,1%). 93 (76,9%) without servant. 116 (95,9%) feel comfortable with their place. Parental Marital Status on most parents students is still in a valid marriage 106 (87,6%). Respondents that living on homestead 63 ( 52,1 % ) and who having the symptoms of depression as much as 51 of the respondents , while stay with parrents as much as58(47,9%) and 47 of the respondents having symptoms depression. There are no relationship between life and depression in homestead students of Medicine Faculty of Sriwijaya University.
